A HAPPY little STAMPER!

 Wooden Princess Stamp Set
I wanted to share a recent experience I had with the toy company Melissa & Doug.  It's not often that you find a company that not only is responsive, but also stands behind their products.  My daughter received the Melissa & Doug Princess Stamp Set as a gift and had really only used it once.  She's just now getting old enough to understand the concept of inking and stamping to paper.  We got the stamp set out to play with yesterday, only to find the ink pads had dried out.  Needless to say, I had an unhappy stamper on my hands!

Knowing that I had stored the ink pad properly, I contacted Melissa & Doug via email.  To my surprise, I had an email waiting in my inbox this morning, apologizing and asking me to call the customer support team. YES!

I called and spoke to a very nice woman that was extremely helpful.  She asked a couple of questions about the stamp set (ID number, etc) and said that they would ship a new ink pad out within a week.  To me, this is great!  Not only, will Maddie have an ink pad that works, but I know that Melissa & Doug stand behind their products and will seek out their products in the future.

It's great that there are still companies around that value their customers and want them to keep coming back!  Thanks Melissa & Doug!

Mini Album

Last night I was busy creating this mini album for my daughter Maddie who recently had a rainbow birthday party.

I'll add her favorite pictures to each page so we can have a keepsake of her special day.

Instructions:

Step 1:  Score a  4 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock at 4 3/4" and 10".  This will make the cover for your pages.

Step 2:  You will need two pieces of card stock measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Score both pieces at 4 1/4".  Fold card stock at the score mark.  These will be your inside pages.

Step 3:  Decorate and embellish your cover and pages.  Make sure you pay attention to how the pages will be placed in your book.  You don't want some pages to be upside down when your flipping through your album. I suggest decorating your pages before you secure them in your album.

Step 4:  Using a small hole punch, punch the pages and cover along the crease of your album. One punch about a 1/2" in on each side.  Using a sturdy string (I used Stampin! Up bakers twine), pull through the holes and tie on the outside of the cover.  I added two brads so that I could wrap more bakers twine around the brads for a closure.  This part is optional.

Step 5:  Enjoy!

P.S. - These would also make great gifts!

All materials and papers used are from Stampin! Up. If you'd like to order, please leave me a comment.

Giddy Up!

My friend Lindsy hosted a Cowgirl birthday party for her daughter's 1st birthday. Lindsy asked me to make a birthday banner for the party and I was all in.

I used the Cricut for the letters, shapes and cowgirl/horse. Lindsy provided some baler twine to be used for stringing the letters. It turned out SUPER cute!  (not the best photos, since they were taken with my iPhone)

Before I punched each card.  The polka dot letters are raised so it added a nice texture.

Maddie's Rainbow Party

I've been a little behind on Maddie's birthday post.  June literally slid over the rainbow and I feel like I missed it.

Maddie's birthday party was bright and cheerful just like our Maddie.  The planning started when Maddie came home from preschool with a rainbow painting that she was SO proud of.  From then on, every time she saw a rainbow, she would get so excited.

Planning for this party was easy - there are so many options for rainbow colored candies and the primary colors are easy to find.

Maddie had fun and at the end of the night, while I was tucking her in she said, "thank you for my rainbow party, mama".  Hearing that little voice speak those words, made all the planning totally worth it.

Enjoy the pics.
The "Candy Station" was a hit.  The kids LOVED this!
This birthday cake was SO fun to make.  SIX colorful layers of deliciousness.

The aftermath...I had to get a picture of the layers.  Everyone let out an "oooooohhh" once they saw the layers.  It was the best part of the cake and tasted SO good. Directions for preparing the layers can be found here. This video was also really, really helpful!

Now that all the partying is done, I still see rainbow and think...Oh!  I could have done that too.  Now I'm thinking of ideas for Jack's upcoming 7th birthday.  Hard to believe these guys are growing so quickly!

Father's Day Workshop

This week I hosted a Father's Day Workshop for KIDS!

Kids came over to make a "six pack of snacks" for their Daddies. I had lots of snacks to choose from for the kids to put in the bottles. Cool "dad" paper was applied to the six pack holder and the bottles.

Kids had fun assembling these gifts...and sneaking some snacks too.

Lots of FUN! I hope the dad's enjoy their gifts!

Happy Father's Day!

A hole in...retirement?

I made this fun little card for a co-worker that retired. I was inspired by a few other cards that I had seen in blog world, and then I used the tools that I had to make this one. It was a simple and quick card to make.

I love how the golf ball turned out.  The clouds were made by punching a scalloped oval and then using a sponge to ink around the punched image - creating a cloud image.

What do you think?

Hop on board the animal train...

I've seen a few cards using the Top Note die as a train car - and this is my version.

This card was fun to make and will be even better to give to a special kiddo.
